You see the water and hills out the windows and Alexander. He’s saying, “What
There are little tiny koo-koo head lamps. I took this picture outside on our deck on Serifos. Cats are living down there. You just can’t see them. The end.

This is Alexander…I’m sorry, you can’t really see his face. He’s scared about getting his picture taken. Beach umbrella, stripes. Alexander is being a koo-koo head.
These are my littlest Pet Shops and Alexander’s feet and Daddy down on the beach.

There is a pole and rocks in Greece. And the rocks look like a wall. Thassos? Tassos? Naxos? No, silly. Serifos!
I am sticking out my tongue, ‘cause I like to. And you can see my bathing suit and if you look up in the screen you can see a huge rock.

Hopster at the music concert. We heard a famous violinist playing the King of All the Violins. Hoppy liked the music, but she accidentally fell asleep. The end.

Dragons on the big palace ceiling when we went to the music. The end.

You can see toys. That's part of our play room. And part of Alexander's bed. And a tiled floor.

You can see a knight if you look really close up. Way, way, way, way, in the back of the hall. A pink hall and a pipe.

A tower in the middle of the collar. And you can see some legs and an arm from Hoppy. You can see a man too--that's dad. That's his shadow.

A man holding flowers. We were gonna buy some flowers for mom, cause Mommy needed some flowers because she likes them.

Man on a truck.

Pigeon, Cars, and That Lady.

I think this lady's name is "Thumb." I don't know.

This is the playground. The yellow thing is a really cool slide. You can see the climbing thing. By and by. Bye.

This is a dead pigeon. It probably got hit by a car or probably got old and it wanted to go lay down there because it probably though it was a good place to die. Or he just wanted to go lay down there and all of a sudden got dead. Sad. That poor fella.
Alexander's Octopus Shirt. The octopus has eight arms, but Alexander only has two.

This is my Pet Shop.

Two dogs. You can see a dalmation but you can't see its head behind the man. There is green grass. I love you.

There's a tower and it's in our house. And there's telephone wire and my room has a big bed and Alexander has cushions on the floor.

The curtains of the kitchen.
The curtains in the kitchen--you can see the reflection, a bowl with bread, and a plant.

This is the Guardian of SEX SHOP Gate. He's drinking coffee. You can see the sign of SEX SHOP where we live. I like that guy, because he's nice to me, he speaks English. You could know that he has a lion shirt on too. Bye. I love you.

Now, this is a lady on t.v. You can see the reflection of the window in our room in her eye. Bye. I love you!

This is under the sink, don't you know? There are bags and pipes, by and by. Do you want to hear my poem?

It's called "Ride Away":

Ride away, ride away,
Sophie shall ride,
And she shall have pussy cat
tied to one side

And she shall have
little dog tied to the other
And Sophia shall ride
to see her grandmother

Ok. Good bye.

A taxi. And there's part of Romania here near the playground. There's a pole there I slide down and go "wheeeeee." I go down. It's so fun. You should have come to Romania. Goodbye.

Alexander is sticking his tongue out in his octopus shirt while sitting on a beautiful chair. Bye-bye.

This is a sheet on the drying rack. And you can see some yucky, dirty socks. Well, the socks are clean but, well, people wear them on their feet.

This is a big bowl of peas. Mommy's holding it and you can see the cushion of the couch and you can kind of see Alexander's jacket and April's leg.

The sky is blue and you can see little bits of trees and a building. This is my window and Sophia's cabinet.

It's finally summer here in Romania. There's lots of trees and there's a building behind the trees.

This is a picture of Winnie the Pooh and a guy and some letters and even me.

Sophia's Photos

Though Mom and Dad graduated to a bigger, better digital camera, we traveled with our old, entirely portable Canon Powershot...just in case we wanted something small, or the other camera let us down somehow. Of course, we haven't used it once.

So we decided to gift it to Sophia, since she seems to exist at such a wonderful angle to the universe. After a few preliminary lessons and a guided tour of the many buttons on the device, she was off to the races, photographing whatever she found worthy of the attention of her lens. This site is dedicated to those photographs and to their maker.

We've decided not to edit what she she shoots, nor what she describes about what she shoots. We're taking dictation, in other words, which (knowing Sophia) might involve some fast typing.
All photos copyright Her Highness Sophia G. Bakken. Enjoy!
